City Receives $500,000 Grant for Spirit Square Project
The City has received a $500,000 grant from the provincial government for the creation of a BC Spirit Square in Central Lonsdale. The open air gathering place will be located on the site of the City's new Library/Civic Centre Development.
Reminiscent of a traditional town square, the City's Spirit Square will feature a wireless caf terrace, market promenade, amphitheatre and 'Tree of Knowledge' reading rooms. There will also be a water feature expressing First Nations values and a glass wall projection of the City's history.
