Dogs in City Parks |
Dogs are welcome in many City of North Vancouver parks. Leash-optional parks include Lynnmouth and Mosquito Creek West. Scroll down for more information on dogs in City parks and dog etiquette.

* Dogs are not permitted on playgrounds, picnic areas, playing fields, beaches, fitness circuits, running tracks, golf courses, bowling greens, tennis courts or in the North Vancouver cemetery. For more information please download and read through the Parks Regulation Bylaw 6611.
Tread lightly
- Please pick up after your dog
- Protect park habitat and wildlife
- Keep dogs out of creeks, streams and ponds
- Keep dogs from chasing any animals, including birds
- Keep to trails to prevent soil erosion and to protect native vegetation.
Enforcement
Animal control services, previously contracted to the SPCA, are now handled by the City. Initially, the City's Animal Control Officer will provide animal control and enforcement Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays) from 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Dog Tax & Regulation Bylaw
To ensure the safety of the public and their pets, the City approved a Dog Tax and Regulation Bylaw. Under the bylaw, every owner of an animal that is defined as vicious is encouraged to take proper command of their pet at all times. Failure to do so will result in higher license fees, fines and/or related costs (e.g. pound fees).
