Social Sustainability

A community cannot exist without its citizens. They determine how a community will evolve by giving it character. They influence development when they choose where to live, work and play. When it comes to sustainability, citizens represent the social aspect with the biggest capacity to enable immediate and positive change.

Social sustainability looks at complex and multi-faceted issues and benefits, such as quality of life, health, equity, liveability and inclusion, all of which are integral to the long-term sustainability of communities.
